- Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has notified two new Quality Control Orders (QCOs).
- It has taken a significant step towards enhancing the quality and safety standards of consumer products.
- These QCOs, covering potable water bottles and flame producing lighters.
- They aimed at strengthen the quality ecosystem in India and prioritize public health and safety.
- They will come into effect six months from the date of notification.
