- A 1987-batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, Rajesh Bhushan who is presently the Secretary (Coordination) in the Cabinet Secretariat has been given additional charge of Secretary (Security) in the Cabinet Secretariat.
- The Secretary (security) is the administrative head of the Special Protection Group (SPG).
- He is responsible for closely monitoring the security arrangements for PM Modi, former prime ministers and members of their immediate families in India and abroad.
- He is also the nodal authority in respect of policy relating to procurement of jammers by the state governments and central police forces.
