- Ramon Magsaysay Award 2021 awardees have been announced
- The winners will be formally awarded the Magsaysay Award at the Ramon Magsaysay Centre in Manila, Philippines.
- The Awardees are,
- Vaccine pioneer Dr Firdousi Qadri of Bangladesh,
- Muhammad Amjad Saqib of Pakistan,
- Philippine fisheries and community environmentalist Roberto Ballon,
- American citizen Steven Munsi and
- Indonesian WatchDoc for investigative journalism.
- Ramon Magsaysay Award is the highest honour in Asia.
- It was established in April 1957.
- It is widely regarded as the equivalent of the Nobel Prize in Asia.
- The award is presented to individuals who have made extraordinary contributions in eradication of poverty and development of the society in Asia.
