- 28 February 2019 will be the twelfth International Rare Disease Day coordinated by EURORDIS (European Organisation for Rare Diseases).
- Rare Disease Day is held on the last day of February every year to raise awareness of rare diseases.
- The theme for Rare Disease Day 2019 is 'Bridging health and social care'.
- This day was first launched by EURORDIS and its Council of National Alliances in 2008 and the first Rare Disease Day was celebrated in 2008 on 29 February.
