Reappointed of RBI deputy governor

- N S Vishwanathan was re-appointed as the deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for one more year with effect from July 4, 2019.
- He is in charge of regulation of banks, non-banking finance companies, and cooperative banks.
- Besides N S Vishwanathan, B P Kanungo and M K Jain were the two other deputy governors of RBI.
- He is also a member of the Bimal Jalan committee which looks into the appropriate economic capital framework for RBI.
