- The Union Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways has published its annual report ‘Road accidents in India 2021’.
- India witnessed as many as 4,12,432 road accidents in 2021.
- By these accidents 1,53,972 people were killed.
- Around 3,84,448 individuals were injured.
- Road accidents are increased by 12.6% y-o-y in 2021.
- The number of fatalities caused by road accidents has increased by 1.9 percent in 2021, when compared to the same period in 2019.
