- The Geneva based Court of Arbitration for Sport banned Russia from using its name, flag and anthem at the Olympics or any other international championship for next two years.
- Russia has also been banned from bidding to host any sporting event for next two years.
- However, Russian players and teams will be permitted to play all International events.
- It will include the upcoming 2022 Tokyo Olympics, the 2022 Winter Olympics Games in Beijing, the world championships and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
- The name Russia can be retained on uniforms if the words Neutral Athlete" or "Neutral Team" have equal prominence.
