- The seventh edition of Indo-Bangladesh joint military training exercise ‘SAMPRITI 2017’ has begun in Meghalaya.
- The main Objective of this exercise is to enhance interoperability between army personnel of India and Bangladesh while carrying out joint counter-insurgency or counter-terrorism operations.
- The previous edition of the exercise was held at Tangail in Dhaka last year, while in 2015 India hosted this exercise at Binnaguri in West Bengal.
