- The Competition Commission of India (CCI) announced the appointment of Ex-IES Sangeeta Verma as its member in its 4-member council including the chairperson.
- The other members of the council include:
- Chairperson - Ashok Kumar Gupta,
- 2 other members - Augustine Peter and UC Nahta
- The Commission was established in 2003 to replace the erstwhile Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission.
