- Saubhagya Awards were presented by the Union Minister of State for Energy RK Singh on February 26, 2019.
- Jammu and Kashmir bagged ‘Saubhagya Excellence Award’ for being the first State in the country to achieve 100% household electrification under ‘Saubhagya’ scheme.
- In Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal’s Central Zone Power Distribution Company and Indore’s West Zone Power Distribution Company have been awarded the Saubhagya award under Pradhanmantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana.
Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana
- Union Ministry of Power launched Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana – “Saubhagya” in September 2017.
- It is aimed to achieve universal household electrification in all parts of country by providing last mile electricity connectivity to all rural and urban households.
