- The conclave is part of the India International Science Festival (IISF).
- It is organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology and Vijnana Bharati, a not for profit organisation working for science popularization.
- The conclave is a 3 year-old mela of students and scientists that showcases contemporary and historical achievements of Indian science.
- The 3rd IISF will be organised from 13-16 October 2017 in IIT-Madras, Anna University, NIOT Chennai and the Science and Technology Ministers from neighbouring countries were invited, including China.
The IISF is largely a platform for science-and-technology-themed exhibitions
At the first IISF held at the IIT-Delhi in December, 2015, students congregated to set a ‘Guinness world record’ for the world’s “largest science lesson”.
The 2nd IISF was held at CSIR-National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi in December, 2016
