- He was until recently China’s ambassador to the European Union.
- The SCO comprises eight member states.
- They are India, Kazakhstan, China, the Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
- India joined SCO at the Astana summit in 2017.
