Seventh Economic Census in Tamilnadu

- Governor Banwarilal Purohit has launched the 7th Economic Census in Tamil Nadu.
- The Economic Census provides information on various operational and structural economic aspects of all establishments in the state.
- It also provides valuable insights into aspects like geographical spread/clusters of economic activities, ownership pattern and persons engaged.
- According to 2013 economic census, 50.29 lakh establishments were found to be operated in the state.
- Unlike 2013, this time the census enumerating will be done with an app.
- Kancheepuram is the biggest district in terms of having the maximum number of establishments.
- More than 32,000 enumerators will be involved in the process.
