Shinyuu Maitri 2019: Indo-Japan Military Exercise

  • The Indian Air Force will be carrying out a joint military exercise named ‘Shinyuu Maitri’ with Japanese Air Self Defence Force (JASDF) from 17 to 23 October 2019.
  • The joint exercise will be held at Air Force Station Arjan Singh in Panagarh town, West Bengal.
  • Another drill between ‘armies’ of same countries will also get underway in eastern theatre.
  • IAF’s C-130 J aircraft of Special Operations Squadron of and JASDF’s C-130 H of Tactical Airlift Squadron will participate in the exercise.
  • The first such bilateral military exercise was held in 2018 at Air Force Station Agra.
