Single crystal blades

  • The DRDO has developed single-crystal blades technology for helicopters.
  • It has supplied 60 of these blades to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
  • The single-crystal high-pressure turbine (HPT) blades are made of a nickel-based superalloy.
