- Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon-SIH (Software) 2020 and interacted with the participants through video conference.
- The Hackathon has been organized by the Ministry of HRD (MHRD), Government of India; All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Persistent Systems and i4c.
- The SIH is a nationwide initiative to provide students with a platform to solve some of the complex issues faced in our daily lives.
- It aims to inculcate a product innovation culture and a problem-solving mindset.
- The first edition of Smart India Hackathon was held in 2017.
