- The SNAP-10A was launched on April 3, 1965 on an Atlas-Agena D rocket.
- SNAP-10A was the world’s first operational nuclear reactor in space.
- The objective of this was to produce at least 500 watts of electricity for a year or longer.
- It was operational for just 43 days. but, still remains in orbit.
