	- The Earth is to witness an annular solar eclipse on June 21, 2020, the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. 
 
	- The eclipse is to be the deepest as the moon is to cover 98.8% of the sun.
 
	- The eclipse is to be visible to states such as Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttarakhand.
 
	- A solar eclipse takes place whenever the moon passes in between the Earth and the sun.
 
	- There are four types of solar eclipses. 
 
	- They are partial solar eclipse, total solar eclipse, hybrid solar eclipse and annual solar eclipse.
 
	- The Annular eclipse occurs when the sun and moon are in line with the earth. 
 
	- This solar eclipse takes place only when the moon is farthest from the Earth.
