- The state government of Maharashtra has launched a special scheme to curb infant deaths.
- The scheme was launched by distributing baby care kits to the children born in Primary health centre and Government Hospitals.
- The scheme is applicable only for first child of the parents.
- Infant mortality rate is the death of young children under one year.
