The Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh announced the launch of a Pan-India single-number "112" under an emergency mobile app called '112 India' at Nagaland.
A 'SHOUT' feature has been made available exclusively for women in the '112 India' app which is connected to the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS).
The ERSS has been integrated with police, fire, health and women helpline numbers to provide emergency services through the emergency number '112'.
Thus, Nagaland became the 1st state in the Northeast and 2nd in the country after Himachal Pradesh to launch a Pan-India single-number emergency mobile app.
