Special Women Safety Feature in Pan-India App

  • The Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh announced the launch of a Pan-India single-number "112" under an emergency mobile app called '112 India' at Nagaland.
  • A 'SHOUT' feature has been made available exclusively for women in the '112 India' app which is connected to the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS).
  • The ERSS has been integrated with police, fire, health and women helpline numbers to provide emergency services through the emergency number '112'.
  • Thus, Nagaland became the 1st state in the Northeast and 2nd in the country after Himachal Pradesh to launch a Pan-India single-number emergency mobile app.
