  • The Spotted Royal (Tajuria maculata) butterfly was rediscovered again in the Nilgiris district.
  • It has not been recorded in the Nilgiris for over a century.
  • It was rediscovered by members of the Wynter-Blyth Association (WBA).
  • It is known to occur in the Northeast of India.
  • The Spotted Royal lives close to its host plant, which is native Loranthus species.
