- The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MOSPI) has constituted a Standing Committee on Statistics (SCES).
- The objective of the committee is to improve data of the government.
- The MoSPI had then announced that the survey will be conducted in 2020-21 after incorporating data quality refinements.
About the committee
- It is headed by former Chief Statistician Pronab Sen.
- The committee is set to meet on January 6, 2020.
- There are around 28 members forming the committee.
- Further, the committee will subsume in it the four standing committees on
- Labour force statistics,
- Industrial statistics,
- Services sector,
- Unincorporated sector enterprises.
