Start-up India Vision 2024

  • The Commerce and Industry Ministry has proposed measures such as tax incentives to promote entrepreneurs as part of the ‘Start-up India Vision 2024’.
  • The aim of the vision document is to facilitate setting up of 50,000 new start-ups in the country by 2024 and creating 20 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities.
  • The vision document has been prepared by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) which is under the Commerce and Industry Ministry.
Start-up India
  • Start-up India, launched in January 2016, is the flagship initiative of the Indian government.
  • It aims to build a strong ecosystem for the growth of start-up businesses and to drive sustainable economic growth by generating employment opportunities.
  • The Start-up India action plan provides tax and other incentives.
