The Commerce and Industry Ministry has proposed measures such as tax incentives to promote entrepreneurs as part of the ‘Start-up India Vision 2024’.
The aim of the vision document is to facilitate setting up of 50,000 new start-ups in the country by 2024 and creating 20 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities.
The vision document has been prepared by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) which is under the Commerce and Industry Ministry.
Start-up India
Start-up India, launched in January 2016, is the flagship initiative of the Indian government.
It aims to build a strong ecosystem for the growth of start-up businesses and to drive sustainable economic growth by generating employment opportunities.
The Start-up India action plan provides tax and other incentives.
