- World Meteorological Organisation has published a report - ‘State of the Global Climate 2018’.
- This publication marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of the WMO Statement on the State of the Global Climate, which was first issued in 1994.
- Key findings of this report include the continuous upward trend in the atmospheric concentration of the major greenhouse gases, the increasing rate of sea-level rise and the loss of sea ice in both northern and southern polar regions.
