- Union Information Technology and Electronics Ministry has launched Stree Swabhiman Initiative to maintain Women’s health and Hygiene.
- The initiative was launched in partnership with Common Service Centre’s (CSCs) established under Digital India.
- It aims to create a sustainable model to provide access to affordable, reliable and modern (eco-friendly) sanitary napkins to adolescent girls and women in rural by leveraging Common Service Centres (CSCs) established under digital India.
- The initiative is driven by awareness and personalised outreach by women entrepreneurs who produce and market sanitary napkins themselves.
