- Bihar state government has asked the state education department to set up academies for the promotion of Surjapuri and Bajjika dialects.
- Surjapuri is a mix of Hindi, Urdu and Bangla.
- It is also known by another name called ‘Kishanganjia’.
- Similar to Maithili, Bajjika is mostly spoken in northwest Bihar.
- The two new academies for Bajjika and Surjapuri were set up on the lines of existing eight language centres.
- Already eight language academies existing in Bihar.
