  • The Social Statistic Division of National Statistical Office released a report on proportion of Unmarried person in India.
  • The percentage share of unmarried young people is increasing.
  • This number is commonly increasing among men and women.
  • Percentage of 15–29-year age of youth who are never married witnessed an increase among male population by 26.1 percent in 2019.
  • It was 20.8 percent in 2011.
  • In 2019, highest percentage of youth share who never married was witnessed across Jammu & Kashmir.
  • It was followed by Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Punjab.
  • Lowest percentage share was witnessed across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.
