Double Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar was picked for a whopping Rs 55 lakh by the Delhi Sultans during the Pro Wrestling League auctions in New Delhi.
Sushil earned the highest bid is now the most expensive player in the history of the tournament.
Among the women, the highest bid came for World Championship gold medallist Helen Maroulis (Under-57kg category) of the United States, who was bought for Rs 44 lakh from Haryana Hammers.
The upcoming season of the PWL will be its third edition. The first edition was won by Revanta Mumbai Garuda and the second season by scooped by NCR Punjab Royals.
In both the editions, Haryana Hammers reached the final but failed to get over the line.
