Sweden has launched the "feminist foreign policy" manual to highlight the nation's flagship approach to promote women's rights globally.
It has been led by Sweden’s Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom since its inception in 2014.
The policy’s main goals include the promotion of economic emancipation, fighting sexual violence and improving women's political participation.
It includes an action plan for 5 war-torn nations, Afghanistan, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia, and the Palestinian Territories, to target women’s empowerment.
There has been a growing influence of Women in Sweden where the number of women ambassadors has risen from just 10 percent in 1996 to 40 percent in 2016.
