- The first indigenously built Talwar Class frigate, 'INS Triput', was launched by the Goa Shipyard Limited.
- The ship has been named Triput, after the mighty arrow.
- The frigate is equipped with Brahmos missiles and the Shtil-1 air defense system.
- The second ship - Tamal will be delivered by February 2025.
- India had contracted four frigates from Russia in October 2016, two of them to be built in Russia and two at the Goa Shipyard.
