- The Tamil Nadu state cabinet consented to implement the recommendations of 7th Pay Commission.
- The decision was taken during the Cabinet meeting chaired by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, after receiving a report from a high-level committee headed by Finance Secretary K Shanmugan.
- The recommendations of the Seventh pay Commission of the Central government formed the basis for the Pay revision.
- Followed by the Centre, the present pay had been increased by 2.57 % for Tamilnadu Government employees.
