- Tamil Nadu government has appointed senior IAS officer N. Muruganandam as the Chief Secretary, replacing Shiv Das Meena.
- He became the 50th chief secretary of Tamil Nadu.
- Also, he is the third Dalit chief secretary of Tamil Nadu after A Padmanaban (1985) and A P Muthusamy (1999).
- Mr. Meena, who is set to retire in October, has been appointed chairperson of the Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TNRERA).
