- The Tamilnadu Assembly’s Budget session began on August 13.
- The House was later adjourned sine die on September 13th by the Speaker Appavu.
- This is also the first time since independence that the State Legislative Assembly would not have a nominated MLA from the Anglo-Indian community.
- A 104th Constitutional amendment in 2019 discontinued representation for Anglo-Indians both in the Lok Sabha as well as in all Legislative Assemblies across the country.
