- Tamilselvi, a 22-year-old transgender person from Vellore, is set to become the country’s first third gender student to pursue a diploma programme in nursing.
- Tamilselvi will now join the Government Vellore Medical College.
- The decision is based on recommendation of the State Human Rights Commission Member D. Jayachandran.
