- It is annually celebrated as Teachers' Day to pay tribute to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and all teachers in the country since 1962.
- He was also the first Vice President of India (1952–1962) and second President of the country (1962-67).
- India’s Teacher’s Day Celebration is one month ahead of World Teachers’ Day, which is on October 5.
