- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated the School of Excellence and Model School scheme in the state in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
- This scheme is based on the Delhi Model School Scheme.
- These schools will be named Thagaisal Palligal and Mathiri Palligal Model School in Tamil language.
