- After nearly 50 years, two tigers were recorded in camera traps in reserve forests of Jawalagiri range in the Cauvery North Wildlife Sanctuary, Hosur.
- Jawalagiri range is adjacent to the recently notified Cauvery South Wildlife Sanctuary.
- The Sanctuary comes under the Melagiri hill range wildlife corridor located in the confluence of Western Ghats and Eastern Ghats.
- The habitat is viable to accommodate spill over tiger population from Bannerghatta National Park in Karnataka and nearby protected areas.
