  • A report titled “Time to Care” has been released by Oxfam International.
  • The report focuses on global inequalities and alleviation of global poverty.
  • The report suggested steps for inclusive development by taking gender inequalities measures.
  • In 2019, there were a total of 2,153 billionaires in the world, all combine having more wealth than about 60 percent of the global population (4.6 billion people).
  • World’s richest 1% have more than twice as much wealth as 6.9 billion people.
  • As per the report, it would take a female domestic worker 22,277 years to earn what a top CEO of a technology company makes in one year.
  • It also revealed a comparison that the total wealth of 63 Indian billionaires is higher than the total Union Budget of India for the fiscal year 2018-19
  • India’s richest 1 per cent hold more than four-times the wealth held by 953 million people who make up for the bottom 70 per cent of the country’s population.
