- Karnataka state government has removed the chapters of Tipu Sultan from its state school syllabus.
- The State government has already decided to cancel Tipu Jayanti celebrations this year, which was started in 2015.
- Tipu Sultan, also known as Mysore Tiger was the ruler of the erstwhile Mysore Kingdom from 1782 to 1799.
