- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister announced that the Chennai-Mahabalipuram East Coast Road will be named Muthamizh Arignar Kalaignar Karunanidhi road to honour the former CM’s role in the development of state highways.
- The Greater Chennai Corporation has named a street after late actor and Padma Shri recipient Vivek.
- The road in Virugambakkam in Chennai where the actor used to reside has been renamed as Chinna Kalaivanar Vivek Road.
- The Supreme Court has observed that the reserved category candidates securing higher marks than the last of the general category candidates are entitled to get seat/post in the General category.
