- President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed Kummanam Rajasekharan as Governor of Mizoram and Prof Ganeshi Lal as Governor of Odisha under Article 153 of the Constitution.
- Kummanam Rajasekharan will replace Lt. General (Retd.) Nirbhay Sharma.
- Prof Ganeshi Lal will take charge from Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik had been given additional charge of Odisha.
- The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has created Women Safety Division to address issues related to security of women comprehensively amid rising concerns over women safety. The division will deal with all aspects of women safety in coordination with relevant ministries, departments, and state governments.

- The Navy conducted a security exercise, called "Prasthan", in the Offshore Development Area (ODA) off the coast of Mumbai. The exercise, conducted by the Headquarters Western Naval Command, is held every six months.
