- Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved creation of a buffer stock of 40 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of sugar.
- This buffer stock would be created for one year starting from 1 August 2019 to 31 July 2020.
- The Standing Committee on Finance headed by Veerappa Moily has released a report titled ‘Status of Unaccounted Income/Wealth Both Inside and Outside the Country – A Critical Analysis’.
- It states that the unaccounted wealth held by Indians was estimated in the range of $216.48 billion to $490 billion over various periods between 1980 and 2010.
- The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has launched an online encyclopedia called Securitypedia and a video interface for its personnel called CISFTube.
- CISF aims to empower its personnel by making technical know-how available to them at the click of a button.
