- The 8th meeting of India-Kenya Joint Trade Committee was held in Nairobi, Kenya.
- "Atal Ji Ne Kaha", is the latest of the books on the BJP patriarch and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee launched by Indian PM. The book was Authored and compiled by Brijendra Rehi. He was a noted Doordarshan producer and a senior journalist.
- Ganga Prasad was sworn in as the 16th Governor of Sikkim at a function held at Raj Bhawan in Gangtok. Acting Chief Justice of High Court of Sikkim, Justice Meenakshi M Rai, administered the oath of office to Prasad.
- Ganga Prasad succeeds Shriniwas Patil as the 16th Governor of Sikkim.
- Baby Rani Maurya was on Saturday sworn in as the seventh Governor of Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand High Court Chief Justice, Rajiv Sharma administered the oath of office to Maurya at Raj Bhavan in Dehradun. Maurya succeeded Krishan Kant Paul.
- Maurya is the 2nd woman to become the Governor of the Uttarakhand, after Margaret (August 2009 to May 2012).
