- A deep depression in the Bay of Bengal has been formed and intensified into a cyclonic storm and it has been named 'Gaja'.
- The Kochi Corporation and Vilnius City signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania. It was signed as a part of the European Union (EU) project ‘International Urban Cooperation’.
- The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy prepared a draft of new Scheme called the Indian Wind Turbine Certification Scheme (IWTCS).
- This was done in consultation with the National Institute of Wind Energy Chennai.
