- The Gujarat Shops and Establishment Amendment Act, 1948 has been amended to allow 24 hours operation of shops, commercial establishments and businesses, all restaurants on national and state highways, petrol pump, hospitals, hotels.
- RBI has imposed penalties on 5 prepaid payment instrument (PPI) issuers including Vodafone m-pesa, Western Union, Money Gram for non-compliance of regulatory guidelines.
- National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Indian Medical Association for imparting ‘skill education’ in Para Medical Courses to the learners.
- NIOS has 2.71 million students at Secondary, Senior Secondary & Vocational levels which makes it the largest open schooling system in the world.
