- World Cleanup Day is a global social action program aimed at combating the global solid waste problem, including the problem of marine debris. The Day coincides in 2019 with Peace Day and the global climate strike (20-27 September).
- The inaugural World Cleanup Day was 15 September 2018.
- World Car Free Day was observed on September 22 across the World Cities. It encourages motorists to give up their cars for a day.
