- Kenya Eliud Kipchoge, became the first person to run a marathon in under 2 hours by finishing the INEOS 1:59 Challenge in 1 hour 59:40 minutes in Vienna, Austria.
- Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka won women’s singles title in the 6th edition of 2019 WTA Wuhan Open held at China.
- By this win, Aryna became the first player to claim back-to-back titles in Wuhan.
