- After the resignation of Robert Mugabe who has ruled Zimbawe for more than 30 years as an President, the Zimbabwe's new President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed the country's ex-Army chief Constantino Chiwenga as one of his two Vice Presidents. Zimbabwe's ex-State Security Minister Kembo Mohadi was appointed as the other Vice President.
- The Assam government has altered the office timings for its staff from 10 am to 5 pm to 9.30 am to 5 pm. The new timings will be followed January 1, 2018, onwards.
- China’s largest social media network, WeChat, is set to become an official electronic personal identification system in the country. It will function the same as traditional identity cards issued by the state.
- Telangana government has announced free 24-hour electricity supply to their farmers from January 1.
- The Tamilnadu based Self Help Group (SHG) has started ‘The Tamil Nadu Sanitary Napkin Producers Federation’ to ensure availability of sanitary napkins free of cost in to hospitals and prisons across the State.
