The Nepal cabinet has endorsed a revision to the mountaineering regulations of its nation, banning solo climbers from its mountains, including Mount Everest, in a bid to reduce accidents. The cabinet also endorsed a ban on double amputee and blind climbers.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on request of the Ministry of Shipping has exempted cruise tourists arriving with e-visa from the requirement of biometric enrolment for a period of three years (till 2020). The purpose of the move is to promote cruise tourism in the country. E-visa facility is being implemented in five major ports viz. Mumbai, Mormugao, New Mangalore, Cochin and Chennai.
China has started collecting an environment tax to better protect the environment and cut pollutant discharge, as the country’s Environmental Protection Tax Law took effect on Jan. 1, 2018.
